soaking wet...and not in a good way..lol

my son has his first full day at reception today...he was up at 3:30 am worrying about it bless..it was a challenge for me after not getting any sleep and everyone getting up late to get my soon to be 5 year old son and 3 year old twin girls up,fed,washed,dressed and out the door to walk to school by 8:25am. And of course it had to be heavy rain announced for today.Luckily grandma sent over cute rain ponchos for them all.hehehe...dropped off my son and then had 40 min to walk the 3 min walk to the twins preschool then stand around getting soaked. Had to laugh at the strange looks I got walking home from the preschool pushing an empty double buggy in the pouring rain.On the upsideI have 2 hrs childfree before having to collect the twins again

I remember doing this with my daughter when she started school then dropping my twin boys at nursery. Those 2 hours were precious then.

I have been fine up until now, with him doing his half days etc...but just how he got all worried about today and did not want to stay, I had my first breakdown out side of school...lol...even got 2 other mums starting to cry...lol

I remember the struggling with a double buggy and a 7yr old constantly getting soaked to the skin. It always seemed to rain in time for the school drop off and pick up!

Didn't have your issue tho. Kids were very independent and had no issues about staying in reception/school. Couldn't get away from me quick enough.LOL My friends kids were clinging to there legs not wanting to leave their mums. I found it very hard to watch, trying to comfort the mums and the kids at the same time.

I doubt I will have that problem once the twins go to reception next year as they are very independant but my son has a few anxiety issues and does not do change well.rain stopped ,is even sunny now so was a dry pickup of the twins..hope it holds out to 3:25 to pick up my son...lol

This is where men differ som uch from women. Our lad is 17mos old and has been going to nursery since he was 10mos old. Siren fretted loads before she dropped him off that first time but I kinda looked on it as a milestone in his short life to date: he had to go it alone sometime so now was as good a time as any other.

He sailed through it and loved every minute of that first day. He still does. Siren stilled blubbed like a baby though and it made me wonder which of them I should be dropping off at nursery next time lol.

The only time I sobbed at school was when each of them left their primary schools to go to high school

The teachers make it a very special year with lots of fun,extra responsiblities and school trips away from home

It was a fantastic time for both of them at a fabulous school and I did'nt want them to leave

I'm flicking between the net mums forums and fab forums...

Let's hope I don't post anything swinging on there...

Anyway - enjoy your 2 hours! My son started school last month and never looked back at me! He even moans when it's me picking him up and not his childminder. Maybe I'm doing something wrong lol
