"some people at work today said it was a bit over top for a tuesday but what does it matter what day it is" I agree that it doesn't matter what day of the week it is. But the scene that we are all talking about was very disturbing!

"Y'know, maybe it's just me but i don't remember skins being multi-cultural etc back then. My experience of the skinheads was of them all being members of the NF & then the BNP. " contradictory we had black guys and girls in b'ham skinhead gangs so that confounded and confused quite a lot of critics!.

"I thought they were more Ska ,Two-tone than Skinheads , Woody looks to be more of a Mod." I think it was supposed to be more that they used to be skinheads... like when lol was talking about him turning into his dad and they had all changed. I think the scene was a bit extreme, it could have been done differently, but I dont think only suggesting what was going to happen would have been strong enough. I just hope they have a positive ending for the whole thing or it could do more harm than good - if that makes sense? xAx

"thought the last one last nite was really good a fab ending and gutted it had to finish hope they do another 1 lol" It was pretty good but a bit depressing with it. The 80's weren't that good or that's the impression that was put across.

"Y'know, maybe it's just me but i don't remember skins being multi-cultural etc back then. My experience of the skinheads was of them all being members of the NF & then the BNP. " skins came about from disillusioned working class kids of all colours. they mainly started listening to ska/soul type music but it was an identity for the disillusioned generation. it didnt matter what colour, size you were, everyone was accepted. Oi came to the forefront with the formation of what would now be classed as skinhead bands like the 4-skins, cockney rejects, cocksparrer and the last resort etc. Because of the aggressive nature of the music, skins soon became divided and the football terraces of the 80's was awash with skinheads in big boot and braces out on a saturday looking for a ruck to relaease their frustration and then following the skinhead bands of their area of town all over the country at night. Fights happened in birmingham as west ham following skins came to see their bands play and fought with the brummies. The split was occuring and from one direction, these early football skins can now be classed as the youth that sporned the casual and football firms of today. Many stayed true to their roots with black and white united but also the much more sinister skinheads following white power bands like Skrewdriver emerged with the whitehall riots of the 80's being sparked by skinhead bands playing in the "wrong" part of town. Ian stuart of Skrewdriver was regularly photo'd with kkk members and this is when the majoerity of the general public decided skinheads were/are evil - this is not the case in the majority, just the minority.... ian stuart died in a car crash 93 amidst many a thoery that his death was "arranged" to stop the spread of the movement he was involved with.. combat 18, BNP, NF etc none of which have any place in the hearts of the true and original skinheads... This is England 86 follows the antics of the more traditional skinheads although this divide can be seen in the film when Combo arrives with his views.. great program and apparently TIE 90 is already in the pipeline... i use to be a skinhead back in the day, but a good one!!!

" Oh i know the story behind the original skinhead scene, just that my personal experience of them was purely with the NF & then later the BNP/C18 clowns. Even back at school in the late 70's the political extremism of outfits like the British Movement/National Socialist Action Party/ NF was prevalent amongst the kids with the shaved heads. I was involved with the movements against Fascism in my local area, so much that C18 once put up a wanted poster with about a dozen photos on it - one of them was mine. (Might have had something to do with a BNP meeting & a little incident with a de-activated grenade). In this town i certainly don't recall the skinhead movement as being anything other than out & out fascists unfortunately. The Rochdale fascists were even implicated in gun-running for Nick Griffin's old mentor & forerunner John Tyndall. Wishy's "Race Traitor" comment is spot on from the insults that were hurled my way.

" i beleive the north west "mining towns" were and still are targeted by the far right, as we all know, trying to spread fear and hatred amongst who they see as their easiest target audience. its a shame you only ever had dealings with the "wrong" type of skins as the lads i knew and hung around with were all such a good laugh and had no mallice whatsoever in their bones, although they did look a bit scary lol... its funny how certain trends seem to get hyjacked and turned the wrong way...
