Nobody buys me pressies for not being a mother though

Am I less valuable because I've not had children? It feels like it sometimes.

I don't object to Mother's Day at all, but I'm staying off social media today for a similar reason...

I shall sit here with my cats.

I don't object either. I do feel less valued or valuable or something, generally, in society, as a non-mother though.

no less valuable, but its a day for ppl to show appreciation for there mothers, if you don't have children then they are not there to appreciate you, doesn't mean that others don't tho.x

I've had a massive cookie off my daughter, a lovely photo of us in a frame and some flowers that she picked the combination of, random rose thrown in amongst the bunch but still lovely!

Going out for lunch with my daughter and my best friend and her daughter shortly.

My mum isn't really into "stuff" so I'm going to help her out on her allotment this afternoon and have bought some tickets for us to go to a concert later in the year as I think she'd rather have time with me than a present.

A very big happy mothers day to All you beautiful mothers out there who have struggled with the pain of that moment of bringing a lil one into the world and the highs and lows of bringing a child/children up either on your own or with your husband/partner.

There shouldn't be one day to symbolise mothers day but everyday we should be grateful to our mother as she is one who gave birth to us she is the one whose body has changed for us gone through the pain so we should remember them everyday not just one day

My mums working so I'll see her later, will put flowers on my Nan's grave, miss my nan so much cos she was like my mother, infact when I was giving birth I had my nan with me and my mum was down in the waiting room, don't have that good a bond with my mother!

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Naff all off my daughter today. I know it shouldn't matter, as I'm not religious, but it does sting a bit. I might say something passive aggressively when I see her later in the week.

Is Mothers' Day a religious thing then? I thought it was more of a Hallmark holiday that grew.

If it was religious, wouldn't it be the same day for all Christian countries?

I tend to see that often sometimes the grandchild has more bond with there grandparent

My daughter doesn't live with me and it's clearly visible thay she's got a very strong bond with my mum so I see what you mean she's not as close to her own mum compared to her grandmother

Its origins are in the Christian tradition of Mothering Sunday (4th Sunday of Lent) but it's really a secular thing these days. I'm not sure why there's a separate one in the US.

I got chocolate, cookies and socks..

I'm currently slowly feeding my son the cookies one here and there and wearing my socks.. Least they are calorie free..
