Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

People being silly under hypnosis.

I'm giving it a go as I don't have my usual channels.

Most of it is just daft but the woman thinking Schofield is going to propose to her is making me laugh.

I remember a hypnotist show when I was at Uni, he went for the risqué daring route and it was hilarious!

Sadly (or luckily) I don't think I go under - none of his tests seemed to work on me anyway.

This show on TV is actually quite funny

No one has managed to put me under yet.

Risqué - that'll be a spin off version on another channel soon.

I did,it took a while and I remember everything I did, other people hypnotised at the same time didn't remember a thing

There are definately differing levels of awareness

Some are definitely more susceptible than others.

The auditions for this must take ages.

I've seen it done to mates on stage, it's definitely real, one of my mates was eating a raw onion having been told it was the juiciest apple he'd ever had, we all knew he couldn't stand onions and he are the bloody lot. This show is a bit tame but quite funny all the same

You've volunteered just for television or for other hypnosis?

No I meant hypnosis shows or those that pertain to that format.

I wasn't including deep therapy sessions or that type of format of hypnosis

OK. I've tried therapeutic hypnosis but didn't ever go under. CBT and NLP don't work on me either. Maybe you're like me and too bloody-minded for it to work?

That's what it was like for me and I was paying £60 for the privilege.

off topic a little.. my grandma smoked around 40 fags a day. she went along to a hypnotist as moral support for her friend who was well into it all (my grandma thought it was all bollocks btw.. ) with the hope he would make the friend stop smoking.

her friend continued to smoke.. my grandma never smoked a fag again. it works for some not for others

That's on topic. I'm glad it worked for her, even if she didn't want it to.

Somewhere in North Norfolk

No, so far I've not been susceptible to hypnosis even though I'd like to be. I've paid for hypnotherapy too a few expensive hours lying on a couch, not remotely feeling what I was being told I was feeling.

I've seen stage hypnosis shows where friends were hypnotised and on a couple of occasions at university, the hypnotist hung around with us in the bar afterwards and demonstrated some more stuff. I have no doubt from seeing that, that's it's a very real phenomenon and is not necessarily people acting. I also know that there are varying degrees of susceptibility and some people are completely resistant.

Did that young woman just say she doesn't know why she's a northerner when she's from South Yorkshire?
