"I have 6 weeks to go!! Subject is The past and current trends of marketing in music events, and how soical media has effect this. Some say it's easy I know! Any help on research methods would be great and methodology. ??" Identify the different types of music events e.g. single act tours, double headers, festivals etc. Look at sponsorship and publicity tie-ins, charity hook-up, old school word of mouth, 90's rave culture and the secrecy of it being a selling point and current successful viral marketing campaigns. Also the use of social media likes and hash tags to target marketing at specific fans and demographics. For starters.

"I have 6 weeks to go!! Subject is The past and current trends of marketing in music events, and how soical media has effect this. Some say it's easy I know! Any help on research methods would be great and methodology. ??" There is a bit of an incongruencey here. You use the word "IN" music events. Meaning: What marketing took place directly at music events past and currently. Apart from Ecological promotion nowadays - it is going to be very difficult to pin down what was the Zeitgeist of the times, and therefore what was worthy to be marketed? But marketing is not my field and it may have just been your phrasing. Social medial historically would be Radio, fly posting, music shops, t-shirts/fashion (walking promos). Nowadays, there are many RSS feeds and apps that can amalgamate popular channels based on 'used words' or 'popular words' to market users with what they want to see.

Music events and marketing, that's one thing im struggling with. " . Ever since they marketed them, they've been shit. By the way, if anyone here is in marketing or advertising...kill yourself. Just planting seeds, planting seeds is all I'm doing. No joke here, really. Seriously, kill yourself, you have no rationalisation for what you do, you are Satan's little helpers. Kill yourself, kill yourself, kill yourself now. Seriously, I know the marketing people: 'There's gonna be a joke comin' up.' There's no fuckin' joke. Suck a tail pipe, hang yourself...borrow a pistol from a friend, do something...rid the world of your evil fuckin' presence.

" Thank you. Going to work on my Lit review later so I'll let you know how I get on. Hard to find theory :/" Would it be relationship marketing theory? I'd guess that to be associated with music events, particularly festivals as consumers would buy tickets before they know the acts.

"Might get some flak here- I didn't even do one and still got a 2:2. Since I didn't give a f#ck about the outcome (not really enough time to go into on here) I read the course / college guidelines on award requirements. In the it stated you could carry 2 failed modules without affecting the total outcome. Since in my case a dissertation was a double credit module i took the admittedly risky decision not to bother doing one but concentrate on the remaining smaller tasks. It worked for me as I did better overall with a lower workload." I believe that most universities will not award you an honours degree without a dissertation. Also, my university does not allow you to carry failed modules - you must resit them and pass the following year before you can be awarded your degree.

It was a full hons award and within the rules at the time. Might have changed it since or be different now but completely true.
