why do people need to start off with this when really you would respect them more if they just came out and said it

i dont beat round the bush and i like to be honest and open with people

I've started to add "in my opinion" to most things I write on the forum if I remember, I hate doing it and I guess it probably annoys other people but I feel I have to point it out because so many people imagine that I think its fact.

im looking for my fun and my enjoyment if they don't meet my criterias they wont and its not likely it will change!

some people think that you will give in and change your mind

i have tried to be tactful and got me more abuse and no im honest and pretty direct

Iv tried the direct approach. In hotel meet now. Free tonight can i fuck you etc etc the usual messages us women get. When iv said no thank you. Iv recieved some awful abuse. So now I don't bother answering. Im just ignorant instead lol. Xx

The concepts missing here are the two maligned words 'diplomacy' and 'courtesy'. Nothing is wrong with being blunt, but being blunt should not be confused with being rude. Blunt is passing information, rude is commenting upon a person adversely unnecessarily or in an unnecessary fashion. In the old days and even in certain cultures today if you were or are rude rightfully or wrongfully it meant or means a fight, a duel or social exclusion. There are generally two sides to a situation and the great thing about the English language you can be extremely rude by being extremely polite, and that avoids social conflict but both sides know that an insult has passed. It also needs to be remembered circumstances may be a matter of opinion.
