little house on the praire

I know someone of 103 and one whose 102 in may.

The 103 year old is a very very smart gentleman who still comes up the town with his son. He's just started to use a wheelchair to go round the supermarket.

The 102 year old is a lady who is a family friend and although not active she has all her marbles

The lady downstairs to my daughter is 91. She's so lovely,a reflection of how people were raised in hard times and appreciated what they had I think. Her deceased husband was like Cpt Mainwaring,he drove everyone mad

My mum is 81. I think she's the oldest person I actually know. At my job we've got a lady born in 1913. I almost put 2013 more than once as her name is fashionable all over again!

Umm 70s I guess. My grandmother. Not that I've spoken to her any time in the past 10 years though. Other than that I'm sure my mother has friends in their late 50s/early 60s.

My mum's now reached the age where instead of lying about her age, she boasts about it!

Amazing to think of the different world these people grew up in. Slates n chalks at school, taken into care when her mum was sent to the workhouse, put into service aged 12, ran away and lied about her age to join the army at the start of WW2, then made a single mother by an American airman who turned out to be married with a family.

They lived more in their first 20 years than many of us will in a lifetime!

I don't know. I don't ask people their age.

I can't think of anyone very old though. Mind you, I only moved 16 months ago and I still don't know many people here.

I've a favourite aunt who is 93 tomorrow. I really enjoy spending time with her, as she has all of her marbles and a cracking sense of humour.

My family isn't large or particularly close but I don't think I have any relatives older than 70.

Three of my grandparents died relatively young.
