when is your mind most active??

lately for me it starts to work when i get into bed i suddenly get all these ideas of things to do, places to go and various work related bits n bobs.

im excited by the creative ideas and plans but then it frustrates me because i need sleep.

Yes, I think of a lot late at night when it all gets quiet. I think best when I am doing something physical - riding horses or swimming.

im also kinda annoyed feeling guilty that my time away from work is being consumed by work.. if i fullfilled the paperwork side of my job role whilst at work id have no time with people.. so i do all my admin stuff at home in my own time.

im only a part time worker as thats all they can fund me for within staffing budgets. but the extra hours i put in outside of work are about the same when im there

my mind never slows down, its like spaghetti junction in my head, I wouldnt know how go switch off

As a teacher, I used to find it hard to not switch off. I used to get my marking, planning etc done in the day, and in the evenings I'd do presentations etc for some of my lessons.

In the end, I found it was a thankless task. I wasn't getting paid to work at home and I was neglecting myself and my own life.

I found a WORK LIFE BALANCE, and now once I leave school I do nothing at home!

it's good your dedicated to your job, but why work for free? when you get home have 'ME' time. Leave work at work!

Mine doesn't switch off until I make it with chemicals. Even when I'm watching a film or reading a book things run across my mind constantly. I think that's why I can never remember names of characters or what happened in the plot. It's fucking annoying.

I think I can sum mine up by saying its at it's most active when I really dont want or need it to be! When I need to be on the ball it deserts me quicker than a rat up a drainpipe x

Hereabouts

Before bed usually. Although I once solved a tricky work problem for my dad 2 days after he told me about it. I find that actively trying to work something out makes it harder to understand whereas if you understand the problem and then just forget about it, your brain will come up with the solution. It's like when you try to manipulate somebody into doing something... You plant an idea in their head, give it a few days or weeks or whatever to grow and they think the idea was there's in the first place.

All the time. Sleeping has always been tricky, especially when I get hold of a problem.

I keep a pad by the bed to write ideas down if i wake up with them, I find this helps me to get back to sleep sometimes.
