I love spicey food, but my palette has changed now I'm older. I prefer it medium with lots of taste.

Love a good curry, I can polish off a vindaloo pretty easily, and love the taste. Can eat a phall, but struggle a little more with one of them!

I like spicy but I like to be able to taste my food. If it's too hot I don't really enjoy it.

Titz Towers, North Notts

Jacket spuds with a bit of pepper on them are nice.

I cook curries frequently. What a lot of people don't realise is that food can be spicy without being hot, it's all in the flavour

That's about my level too Tina. Can't abide this trend for putting chillies in everything.

My basic rule is eating shouldn't hurt. Haven't had that challenged, but I've never eaten vindaloo or stronger.

South East Midlands NOT

I'm a spice wuss. If I go for Indian food it's a korma all the way!

If I go to Nandos I have mango and lime seasoning.

Had a chicken shish tonight, in my experience they're normally only lightly seasoned. This one made my lips tingle and my nose run. Wasn't a happy bunny!

It's not the shish, it's the chilli sauce.

If in doubt go for garlic sauce instead

Neither of us eat what we would call "Spicey Hot" food! Friends who do and go for the really hot stuff cannot taste the subtle flavours of the food we have, so have to eat hot food to taste it! OK, they may be exceptional, but it is a fact that the current love affair with the Chilli has pervaded just about every thing savoury.

We wanted a BBQ sauce, so down to Asda where we purchased one of theirs. It was hot! Looking at the label, it had chilli in it. BBQ sauce should not have chilli in it!

No, you can keep your hot food and leave us with the flavour

My sentiments entirely.

I remember ordering a soup many years ago that had all sorts of interesting looking things in it but it was so hot, all I could taste was burn.

Not for me mate, too much pepper dulls the taste of food for me.

I couldn't possibly comment. Mrs ddc spent a rare evening in the kitchen, and muddled the chilli powder with the cayenne pepper again...

(you'll have to imagine the steam coming out of this guy's ears)

Mr ddc
