I have been a member for a few weeks. Don't get me wrong I have met some nice people. But met some that take really the biscuit.

Met a couple yesterday. Walked in and introduced myself friendly couple. Then got down to business with his wife. The blokes phone rang so he told me not to say a word. His wife is still playing with me and wants to carry on. The husband is chatting to his mate on the phone in another language. The wife was moaning but holding it in and I had to do the same. After 10 mins he got off the phone and then started to talk to his wife in the same language. I could tell she was not intrested. I had to get out as I was feeling so uncomfortable. For fuck sake you can speak Engligh so then why speak in your language and spoil the mood.

I got that of my system. Feel free to rant and rave love to hear.

OP, put it down to experience, judging by your opening paragraph you are doing well and have had several meets already. Some people are arseholes, though to me the languaage they speak isn't related to that.

Or maybe he was pissed off that the guy who he'd invited in to his house and was fucking his wife didn't respect his request to 'not speak', continued fucking his wife. I mean if he wanted you to be quiet the 2 of you moaning ignores the spirit if not the wording of his request. Or maybe he thought if you were having a 3sum it was a bit rude to not put a hold on proceedings and wait for him to resume. Though granted he could have taken the call elsewhere

Since this was an actual meet, with real people, and we've only got one side of the story, I don't feel like I should comment on it specifically.

If we were in a hypothetical situation where someone received an urgent call during a play session which had already started, I think I would expect them to take it only if it was vital, to keep it as brief as possible and to say something like, "I'm really sorry, I have to take this" and then take it elsewhere to leave you to carry on, or ask you to wait, or whatever.

If it was urgent and couldn't be dealt with briefly, perhaps saying, "sorry, something I have to deal with has happened, could we stop and reschedule, please?" would be better.

I wouldn't blame anyone for deciding not to reschedule in the latter situation though.

I'd be annoyed if involved in a play session and someone stopped, and expected everything else to stop, to answer a phone call. It would be bad enough if it was done in English but using a different language, which I don't speak, would make it very uncomfortable.

I would agree, but without knowing the nature of the conversation, we are not in a position to decide just how confidential the conversation was to be. You could argue that the chap should have had his phone off, shouldn't have taken the call etc. Perhaps he was on call?

Would it have been better, if the call had been of an exceptionally urgent nature, for the meet to have been called to a halt so that the call could have been taken and the conversation afterwards to have taken place?

Two sides to a story.

If you had invited someone into your home who only spoke french for example, you knew this but were able to communicate in useable french, if the circumstances came up would you have a private conversation in French because of your guest?

I think our familiarity with mobile 'phones is having a detrimental effect on our manners when we're with other people.

I catch myself checking my 'phone sometimes when I should be paying attention to someone I'm with. My mum is dreadful for it though. We can be out somewhere having lunch and she'll spend the whole time sending and receiving texts. We can be having a conversation and her 'phone will announce the arrival of a text, at that point she'll usually lose track of what I'm saying as she immediately digs out her 'phone to read the text.

Sometimes I feel tempted to apologise and ask if I'm keeping her from her 'phone, or just to confiscate the thing. I can guarantee I wouldn't have been allowed to do that as a kid.

Anyway, to come back to the original post, I think the OP, as a matter of courtesy, should have stopped playing. If the guy took a phone call, it could be because it was very important. After, when conversing in a different language, it may have been indicative that it was of a personal nature, something so important that he didn't want the meet continuing.

If I had a meet and had to take an important call, I would expect everyone else, as a matter of courtesy, to stop playing while I spoke on the phone. What is wrong with that?
