Which is worse. The patronising male or the female that accepts his offer.

Odd idea really.

If you fancy a bloke you can have a free meal.

If you don't you can't.

Speaks volumes about why men pay.

The two concepts are unrelated.

He offered, She accepted.

Why is it wrong for her to do that ? In your eyes ?

Ok I finally got roung to watching it...yes she was a nasty woman who admitted she is nasty to people if she didn't like them.

Taking a meal from the man makes her look like an arse. I loved Sav though and his reactions

She was an unfortunate date pic for him. Her modus operandi is to make life hell for guys, if she doesn't fancy them. That is just a low down filthy way to treat others. .

No simple and common decency. Someone unprepared to give respect to others.

She represents what is wrong with our culture. I hope he goes on to success.

But why should men pay ? If there sat in a restraunt together conversing waiting to eat a meal why shouldn't they go dutch? each pay half to the cost of the meal ?

It does speak volumes personally if I was that woman I would have made a polite excuse and left prior to the the menu being offered.

Isnt it a bit of an outdated and possibly a bit of a sexiest view to believe that the man should always pay ?

You still seem to be paying the same thing.

If she fancied him it's okay for him to pay.

If she doesn't she's a bitch for allowing him to pay.

Have I understood your O.P. correctly?

He said 'i'll pay and then next time you pay' She said ..... Okay... Are you sure. Thanks or words like that.

I thought she was abysmally behaved. I think he was a wuss BUT........

He did say at the start - Ive not had any second dates. Im fussy. Maybe I need someone to put me in my place.

Well he met one.

I bet they were teamed up by the t.v. people on purpose.

She was vile but typical of what some men allow a woman to do on the promise of 'something' happening or something he knows I don't

Do you think he'd have offered to pay for a strange blokes meal ?

I think he was under no illusions that he was not going to get anything from it.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying there are not men out there who will say what they want to get into your knickers but I really don't think he was expecting anything from the nasty woman sat opposite him so his offer to pay was probably because he was being polite.

I would have told her to go fuck herself myself.

Two things going on I think.

Her behaviour was arrogant, snooty, derogatory. No one should do that to another.

He offered to pay for the meal. She said okay.

I don't see that as surprising. She'd already shown that she has such low self esteem she can only feel good by putting others down. So why would anyone expect her to think she shouldn't be bought a meal as she was rude.

I said what I said as the Original Post seems to imply that as she didn't fancy him she should have not taken the meal. It follows then that if she HAD fancied him she could have accepted the meal and no one would be calling her a bitch.

The meal bit to me is irrelevant.

She was nasty. She WAS going to pay or go halves. He said .... No let me.

I'm not putting her on the hook for that anymore than he needs looking at for offering after being treated like shit.

You read into it that the woman should only get her meal paid for if she was up for it.

Read the O.P again. Then the O.P's next comment.

I watched the clip ..... The waitress brings the bill. Kat reaches for her bag to pay ....

He goes. I'll get this ..

She goes .... REally ?

She goes ......... That is so sweet of you.

He says ... Yeah then if we meet up again under what ever circumstances you pay.

She nods and says ...... There you go then

Fair enough I'd have said No lets go halves but she didn't.

Doesn't make her a gold digger or a bitch.

Nope.

I'm saying leave the gender out of it.

He offered.

She accepted.

BTW nowhere do I say she can have the meal if 'she's up for it'

I said 'fancied'

Which is what the O.P said in his second post....

'If you don't fancy me. If you don't fancy chatting then don't take the offer , pay your own way.

That's where I get the ....... She can have the meal if she fancies him bit from.

I do keep saying her behaviour was vile. I still can't accept that she's in the wrong to graciously ( tongue in cheek ) accept someone paying for a meal for her.

You say you want equality for women which is great and yet are quite happy for men to be used by a woman for a meal after making it pretty obvious she didn't like him....but it is ok as he offered

He could well have just been old school that think they should pay for a meal...or he could have been a vulnerable man, manipulation doesn't just happen to women.

If it was a female doing the paying after someone making it perfectly obvious they didn't want anything to do with them I think the answers would be totally different so that's why I kept the gender in.

The land of grey peas and bacon

This is why I rarely on a first date go out for a meal with a guy because if I didn't like him I wouldn't expect him to pay for a meal if I clearly made it clear I didn't like him. I found her behaviour awful and he was very gracious in his response in offering to pay for the meal. I wouldn't of wasted a quid on her but there you go.
