After a fiesta 1.25 53 plate onwards, but looking at a max price off £900 a first car for her son, Birmingham area, seen one yesterday was all looking great till I took off the oil cap, and seen the tell tale signs off a blown head gasket

Hello Gaz,

do you mean Mayonnaise looking oil, if so short runs will give the same effect as the car never gets hot enough? If the head gasket was blown it would run very poorly.

Best bet is get someone who really knows what they're looking for and pay them in beers or something.

At that level most of them will have probably had a hard life by now but not knackered.

If the coolant tank is clear orange or pink then all should be fine - any rainbows on the surface then it's time to avoid.

Alec is completely right, a little fiesta has probably been used for short trips and it's just a build up of condensation. Open the expansion tank and see if the water bubbles when revved up. If so its your head gasket.

You can get one easy for that money up here, I see half decent ones go almost every day on the FB groups I belong to
