Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Finally got rid of my old Galaxy Ace (yippee!) and replaced it with a S4 mini. I am working my way through most of the new fangled modern things, but one thing I could do with some help is, where are all my apps going? I've downloaded three or four free apps (National Rail, Facebook etc) but they're not showing on my apps. Are they hiding? If so, where?

Swipe through to another screen + icons might be there.

But you should also have a yello folder containing all applications.

If I remember right.

not far from iceland,,,,,, tescos is nearer though :-) (near leeds)

Not sure about Samsung... My Sony has a 3x3 square ofdots that takes me to the apps page from there I can press the menu key 3dots and list the downloaded ones... If not I'm sure a tech wizard will be along shortly..

Here you go

Press and hold the Home button at the bottom centre of the handset.

Slide up/down to the application you wish to manage.

Tap on image to switch to the desired application or slide left/right to terminate.

Don't say I'm not good to you !

Ok, so that's how you do it,

But sounds like might not be installed - does it show other applications?

Like ones that are already installed - eg browser or , say media

Edinburgh

S4 mini has several ' home ' screens. on main screen just keep swiping either left or right until you see them. or touch the bottom right hand side button and all apps on phone should appear

Just one more point,

Guess you know this, but make sure you accept all the permissions when you download + install an app.

Usually you have to tick a box asking if you want to give it permission

Done all that. They're just not there. No my Wi-Fi has gone too. And there's me thinking a new phone would be easier.

When you say your wifi has gone - do you mean the phone can't connect using wifi to your home wireless network?

Or something else,

I think that phone will have its own 3G network, maybe 4g if iyou're lucky. But that's for connecting to ee/Vodafone whatever. Not your home wifi

2 separate things.

But if you are downloading apps, it's cef better to use your home wifi, saves on data usage.
