"I'd start from scratch with the dough to make it really worth it, you'll probably need it to be a bit more stretchy for a calzone than the ready made ones are capable of. Place near me does a spicy meat feast calzone thing which may or may not be the reason none of my jeans fit. " You're probably right about the dough. I don't do cooking though and despite my best intentions, I know there is zero chance of me making dough from scratch. I also happen to have a packet of ready made pizza bases that need using. I shouldn't be thinking such things really, as I'm on a diet. I can't be good all the time though, right?

"I have no idea but it sounds amazing.. Actually my old boss used to make a Jamie Oliver pizza dough that she raved about and she would freeze some too. " They are amazing. You bite into them and the garlic butter dribbles down your chin. I've just found a Jamie Oliver recipe for cheese and garlic calzone online. I could be falling off the diet wagon tonight.

"Aren't the ready made bases too dry? The ones I've seen are often more bread like than doughy? Wouldn't think they'd survive being folded in half x " I don't know tbh. I haven't opened the packet.

If you're going to break the diet for something you need it to be worth it and not a disappointment! Ready made bases are generally a bit more bready.

I haven't used a ready made base before, and I've no idea why I bought these ones, so I had no idea what to expect of them. This could be a sign I am not supposed to be eating garlic and cheese bread!

"A pizza place I used to love in Hampshire used to do garlic bread calzone, which was the dough folded over and pinched at the edges with the garlic butter and cheese inside then baked. They were amazing. The garlic butter was liquid in them. They were the nearest thing to sex it was possible to order for delivery! " Most places down here do them and now I want one
