With my belly piercing this week.

Think it may have been agitated when I was whipped face down.

It's sore. A bit red and leaking puss. The doc said it wasn't infected. It improves overnight but then gets angry during the day.

Cleaning it with tea tree oil calms it down a bit.

Advice gratefully recieved. The doc said these piercings do play up now and then. I've had it three months.

I always cleaned mine with savlon wound wash just spray it on and also used hot salty water when I didn't have wound wash.never had any problems.

How can it not be infected if there is pus? Are you cleaning it with salt water etc?

Sorry to hear about your problem. You could try cooled boiled water and salt. Salt has a natural antibiotic effect. I was told to use this method after an operation it worked very well.

Hope you get better soon

I'd say it's teetering on infected, hence cleaning a bit more often with tea tree.

I'm determined not to have to give up on this one. When it was done at the top I had to take it out after six weeks when it migrated.

Def salt water. As often as you can. Avoid wearing anything that rubs on it. Some people's bodies just don't like piercings.. What's the bar/ring made from? X

Mine plays up now and then still and I've had mine 15 years lol. It can be nippy as . I find it depends on clothes u wear sometimes too whether they catch on it. I find even taken it out for a couple of days helps now and then xx

It's an anodised one I have in now. Picked the smoothest one so my clothes don't agitate it any more than I can help.

It's fairly snug each end. As in there is no spare bar showing. Not sure if this is ideal?

I imagine a bit of clearance to allow the air to get to it would be better but the longer the bar the more it gets moved and agitated.

Why not take it out .......... I was looking at something like this on tv ..... and it made a big hole as rotted her skin . You could have a new one later in the year when better ? I know cost but better them puss and feeling sore .. You need to go to boots and ask them what you need to put this right.

This is my second go at having a belly piercing. It has been perfectly well behaved for three months.

I'm not giving up this easily!

I did go to the doc yesterday. If it doesn't improve by tomorrow, I'll go back.

I can still see the scar from the initial piercing. It's a line where it moved.

This one, at the bottom of my belly button, doesn't seem to be migrating. Fingers crossed it won't.

here and there, thereabouts

Bathe it in salt water and avoid tight fitting clothes.

I don't think it will magically have got better by tomorrow, but I do agree that if you are concerned it's not healing correctly to go back.

Tee tree oil seems to be the magic fix.

Washed loads of gunk away again this morning but the swelling has gone down lots, it's only a little bit sore. Looks like I'm winning the battle.

Thank you to everyone for their words of advice and private messages.

I love you fabsters! You always pull me up when I'm down

Thank you. Wearing my tee shirt tied to one side when ever my customer is out of the way. Looks a bit gay I expect but it stops it rubbing on the bar

Let's face it; I am a bit gay

I've had mine since I was 13 and I remember it was a bit of a bugger for the first 6 months or so, if you've only had it 3 months its probably still going through the healing process and you may have agitated it, just carry on cleaning it using salt water and stick with it, you should be fine but it will take time for it to completely heal.

hiding from cock pics.

Tea tree is a bit too strong, natural salt a few times a day will heal you quicker. Hope it keeps improving

This can be a very dangerous thing to do as if there is any infection it can trap it inside if the hole closes up

South East Midlands NOT

Savlon wound wash is the only thing I use on my piercings. I wouldn't advise changing it at all at the moment until it's settled down.

Mine went really bad when I made the mistake of changing mine too early and repericing it myself. If u can hack the pain I found putting salt straight on to the wound works wonders but it kills

The best way to clean any piecing is with warm boiled sea salt water twice a day, other cleaning solutions can irritate the area more making it more sore.

Soak the area with it ,, the most important bit is making sure you dry it properly ,, using cotton buds .
