Should you stay or should you go ?

You're slowly walking to meet up with the person you've been talking to for weeks.

You turn the corner and see the person but they do not see you.

That person is skinnier or bigger than the pictures you've seen. It doesn't matter, something's not right about this person.

Do you turn around and leave him/her standing or continue on with the meet up ?

Let's see who has a heart and who doesn't :D

You've nothing to lose by going for a drink with this person.

It takes a special kind of Cnut to just leave someone hanging like that. What a horrible thing to do or to have done to you.

Continue. As long as their personality is the same then you can still have a laugh.

Show them some respect, they have made the effort to turn up, have a chat and see how it goes, manners cost nothing.

But if I am definitely sure that they haven't seen me, I might be tempted to

I am an adult so I would have a conversation with them, I would tell them the reason why I would not be taking the meet further. I would do so in a sensitive and pleasant manner.

If they still fancied a coffee or drink, cool.

I don't shy away for being honest, I have evolved as a swinger over the years and I do things for me, not others.

Just where I need to be.

If I go there will be trouble...Can't get the song out of my head. Would stay and have a drink then be honest and explain I am not taking the meet further.

But you were lied to. The person has misrepresented themselves.

Why wouldn't you be justified to just keep walking on? What right does the other person have, having disrespected you by lying?

Obviously the other person has no heart, they are lying to you to get a meet.

(This is my devils advocate post!!)

I've had loads of hot chocolates with people I have no intention of taking things any further after seeing them in the flesh. It's why I insist on a coffee social first.

Fuck the coffee, I'd drag 'em to the pub. They might look drop dead gorgeous after half a dozen pints

Continue. If I like the person I've been talking to I'd like to do so in real life. Unless they've pulled a Cyrano de Bergerac on me. Then I've got issues.

I met a guy 18 months ago at a hotel bar. He wasn't as handsome in the flesh but after a few drinks we ended up in bed anyway. Turned out to be the best sex I've had, met up every Friday fot around 4 months, shame I had to fuck up

I've actually done this... Some have been a good laugh, some have been strained, but glad I was honest everytime

I've never walked away, sat bored shitless in a pub on occasions wanting to go home as they really weren't for me but it wouldn't cross my mind to stay in the car and drive off and I only meet socially first

I'd walk away.

If something doesn't feel right, I walk the fuck away.

Whenever I ignore my gut instinct it bites me in the ass. Every. Single. Time.

the majority of people will post the pictures they are happiest with, or in some cases despise the least.

If they have had the good grace to turn up, the very least you can do is go and speak to them. Even if it is to say, sorry but I can't stay.

Although that would be a lie, surely better than being a timewaster yourself.

How would you feel if that happened to you?

No meet is guaranteed to end in sex.

What if they booked a hotel, time off work, paid for a babysitter/dog sitter etc?
