On Nana's point - I have tried to make my profile clear that I will continue to meet my existing friends as I got fed up with the snide comments that I'd said I couldn't meet them and then went off and had a meet. "I've never done that on a meet but back when I was junked out on painkillers, I turned up a whole month early for a hospital appointment 2 hours from Arse End (June and July are easily confused when you're whacked off your head)...fortunately, my consultant fitted me in at the end of his clinic.
