wisdom teeth

hi guys have anyone experienced a wisdom teeth removal?if yes how long did it take to start eating serious food? lol im getting mine done today

Pain killers drink through a straw for the first day and try not to chew on that side. Good luck op.

I had mine removed at hospital in September. I ate soups and yogurts for the first few days then gradually worked my way onto more solid foods. It was a couple of weeks before I was eating normally again. P.

I had all four done under a general anesthetic, think I was eating, albeit using only my front teeth, the next day.

Speak to the people doing it, they'll give the best advice.

3-4 days. Had three removed at the dentist whilst sedated, four dissolvable stitches in each one. Not the greatest experience but so glad they're out. Plus point, dreaming when I got home resulted in some of the best and sexiest dreams ever.

You may also end up with what they call dry sockets. They are a nuisance, as they take months to heal properly and you have to be careful about getting food in them. Cleaning them out can set them off bleeding again. I had mine out in hospital, they hadn't given me any trouble as they were still under the surface but growing sideways and the xrays looked like there could be problems. When I got yo the hospital they then warned me about the fact that I could end up with a wakened jaw bone (they said it might even break during the op), and possible nerve damage if they accidentally cut the nerve that goes through your face. Its unlikely to happen, but you will have to sign a consent form telling you that they have earned you. Oh and prepare to look like s hamster for a few days.

dont use a straw to drink from!!

hospital were really good with mine - i had my 2 top ones out a few months ago, i think i eased off the soups after about 4 days, but take it very easy with what you eat..

not only do you not want food getting stuck in the socket, you do not want to risk knocking out the clot that forms in there - if that happens apparently its damn painful.

you'll be fine

I had two taken out on my right side, I had to go to the hospital as one was growing under my back tooth, they had to cut the gum and smash the tooth up and suck the bits out on the lower one the top one was a normal removal, I felt like someone had beat me up the next day my lower jaw was bruised and swollen, I was supposed to go back in two weeks and have the other side removed but I didn't so what my dentist did was instead of removing the two wisdom teeth he took out the two back teeth to give room for the wisdom teeth to come through which was much better and when they did come through they filled the gaps of the removed teeth

I'd never go through that again

I can't remember how long I was in pain for but felt like forever
