I find it surprising too. many of my old friends still live, not just in Birmingham but the same suburb they grew up in. Where we live now we have local friends who wouldn't date people from the next town (3 miles away) and view London (20 minutes on the train) as a different world. I find it incredibly small minded

150 miles due south Dow the mo from Manchester but if you add in all to other stops along the way the milometer would be off the scale!

Hereabouts

I've lived in/had belongings in around 20 houses.. Manchester, Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire.. So not really sure where I'd class as where I grew up... Spent most of my life within about a 15 mile radius of where I am now though

cleveleys

for both of us-about 80 mile,s been let 40 year,s we go back for relation,s funerals but no one left now used to see our old friend,s in the same old place,s not many moved very far. Some still live in the same house they were born into.Years ago when we first moved away went back for special occasions every thing was fine with old friend,s but as we all got older our friend ships faded we did very well in the pub trade. It was a council estate me and my husband came from not trying to be above my self but our life style is miles apart which one or two of them seem to resent and were rude. We worked hard some of them have never hardly worked

I've never lived or worked more than 10 miles from where I was born. The only member of my family this applies to.
