"read it in book on transvestism and gender disorders"

Was this book sponsored by an American Evangelical Institute by any chance?

Even calling it a gender 'disorder' is a bit odd. It's not your fault that you don't fit neatly into a gender type, its society's for HAVING gender types.

"read it in book on transvestism and gender disorders"

From the 1920's??

If you really are not happy being a transvestite then why advertise yourself as one on here? If i felt a compulsion to be something in not the last thing I'd do is advertise myself as the very thing I don't like about myself.

I'll tell you what, I met 1 very unconvincing 1 last night... If this is a medical condition or whatever they why aren't the doctors or nhs or some kind of organisation funding lifestyle classes I.e. Hair and makeup. You can spend thousands on surgery but if you can't get your hair and makeup correct... Well it's a recipient for disaster.

That's quite a confusing statement. Would you rather be a man with no compulsion to dress or would you rather be a woman so can dress all the time?

Women don't get hair and make up lessons in the NHS, why should men. If I want to know how to do make up then I go to YouTube or other sites that tell me how to do it. I could go to make up lessons etc.

The nhs do a lot of stuff around gender reassignment. Counselling to make sure the decision is right and the person is ready, surgery, not just to change the major bits but facial reconstruction etc to feminise their look bit they can't do everything. Part of showing you are ready to change is doing some of the changing yourself.

I thought the most they did was the op and shave down the adams apple. Other things like laser hair removal, cheekbone reconstruction etc has to be done privately?

Sounds like something out the 50s when being gay was thought to be a mental illness as well

I saw Dr Christian from embarrassing bodies go to a clinic to try their 'cure' for being gay.

I can't believe people in this world still believe homosexuality or dressing are mental illnesses.

Just because the people spouting this crap have 'professor' in their name, doesn't mean they're right.

I'm not mentally I'll. I'm just liberated and willing to be happy with myself as I am.

Yeah saw that dr christian thing too.

Frightening to think people still believe that shit.

Had similar discussions as this one before.

majority of peolle would think that sharing your wife is crazy, but a lot of people on this site do just that.

I'm not crazy, i just like what i like.

One mans crazy is another mans biscuit, or something like that.

Man. Ok this word describes masculinism, and is likely to refer to the male gender, although man used to be used to refer to both males and females (so did he and him).

I think if you're reading psychology stuff you need to read more about what defines anything, perceptions and stuff like this. You'll realise what labels really are and how they work.

But yes the DSM does describe transveste FETISHISM as a mental disorder but you also need to know what a paraphillia mental disorder is. ALSO mental disorders are only classed as mental illnesses IF they cause distress to the person experiencing them or they cannot function because of them.

some of our very best meets have been with T girls and TS's (and we do understand and appreciate the difference) - the sex is just incredible! And we always have a right good chin wag as well - love their outlook !

Personally I'd say neither as its normal and natural to explore your sexuality and as long as all parties are enjoying, crack on.
