If so, then you'll love watching me shake my bootay to the musical stylings of Genesis.

More of a Genesis fan but Collins was a supremely talented drummer. I enjoy his solo work up to and including "Both Sides" and hope that he makes more music. His Motown covers record was a labour of love and is actually pretty good also.

It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums.

"Easy Lover" is a favourite of mine also. And you already know I'm a lover of karaoke. You be Collins and I be Bailey?

Duke was where his songwriting started to come to the fore. However prior to Duke his drumming was world class. At the time perhaps only Bill Bruford was a rival in the rock field. Bear in mind that Phil was drumming on all sorts of projects....Brand X (jazz-rock fusion band)...he also appears on Andrew Lloyd Webber's Variations...Zoxx & The Radar Boys....

I do like his solo work but I find it more of a pleasurable listen than something I get really emotionally into.

I'm a Phil Collins fan and a huge Genesis fan. Love the Duke album.

But I think Phil Collins works best within the confines of the group, than as a solo artist, and I stress the word artist.

This is Sussudio, a great, great song, a personal favorite.

My Dad is a Genesis nut.

My favorite is "the cage" or "in the cage"...can't remember, I just remember he used to have it on full blast taking me to school as a nipper.

I used to get in the car and I used to love it when he put it on.

He's a bit more chilled out these days.

"

Sadly it's worse. He suffered a back injury on the last Genesis tour and had surgery to try to repair it. He's been practically unable to hold drumsticks let alone play since. I gather he tries and just can't do it.

His voice is getting a bit stronger though. He's done a couple of very low profile performances (ie for his son's school). I hear he does rehearse with his old touring band from time to time to keep "in the game".

I find something to like in every era but I just love their material from 1970-1977

Still on the lookout for a first edition LP of Nursery Cryme to complete my collection
