Skype---- before meet or fun...?

I just want to know do the majority of people that use Skype... Skype just for fun or verify you are who you say you are before you meet the person??

We meet socially only first with no exceptions and so far people have always been more or less who they have claimed to be with the exception of some who forget their date of birth but those were all from another site.

We use it as we have had a shocker or two ,we like alot of people really don't have time to dress up nice for a social only for the person to look nothing like his pics.so a 5 mins chat on Skype and if alls good then happy days.

It's the best way for us, other people might have different ways of doing it.

We met a guy who'd knocked a good ten years off his age, we laugh about now

A year down as they wanted a 23 year old lol I am actually 24
