Does anyone else pay any heed to reviews?

My gaffer has a total animus against reviews, regarding them as being pointless, even to the point where if 12 reviewers all say a movie sucks, he doesn't believe it to be necessarily likely.

I'm a big fan of a reviewer called Steve Bennett, who is probably the pre-eminent comedy reviewer in the realm. His stuff always makes for interesting reading and he's very even-handed, even if his review for the latest Phoenix Nights show was unexpected (in that it was a stinker).

I was wondering what everyone else thought of reviews and reviewers.

I dont take any notice of single, individual reviews as they could have a biased opinion.

I do though take notice of various reviews when buying a product or downloading an app for example
