Yeah I'm not a fan of the foot being held on by the sock shot that newspapers love to print.

us arsenal fans are use to it unfortunately.... happens to our players all time....

Glad I missed it though..... although one of my mates did say "michael owen must be in shock as it didn't happen to him for a change"

I thibnk a lot of Premiership fotball players consider a mild tap to be a life threatening injury, the way they go down & roll about in "agony"

As a football fan I think the players who get injuries how lucky they are! When you hear some bad things that happen to our troops in Afghanistan getting seriously injured or blown apart, they should see how lucky they are to have an medical team around them i.e. when they get that magic sponge.

Some things in life are completely unrelated so why try and make a connection between injured sportsmen & women and injured troops? Should we give up all sports whilst war is being waged? Go nowhere? Do nothing? We'd lead a pretty boring and uneventful lives if so.

Valencia's injury is horrific and he'll struggle to play again this season. A year out of top flight football can take a year or two to regain his automatic selection place - and that's only if Ferguson hasn't moved the team on a year or two from now and he ends up out of the team altogether. So yes, it IS a serious injury, not just to the player but potentially to his career as well.
