And if a cougar refers simply to a lady older than you, is that your only criterion? Would you meet any older lady with a penchant for younger guys? Surely you have some regard for personality or physicality? I really would hope so.

Theres an old expression that "a gentleman should never ask a lady her age" theres a reason for that, its because most women dont want reminding of their age so why give a certain age range a grouping to remind them of it?

Finally by calling someone older than yourself a Cougar your automatically making an assumption she is when in fact she could have no interest in younger men, that assumption alone is offensive as your are judging her to be a certain type of woman before you know her

I think this is the issue, but it translates to all people in general. You get eejits that are 50, 40, 30 or 20 years old (and younger or older!)
