Sheffield

Finding myself in Darlington I decided that I would partake of a local delicacy for my tea and I'm currently eating parmo.

I must admit, I'm a bit underwhelmed.

So all you locals, where should I go next time to get the full parmo experience in Darlington?

Breaded chicken fillet (like a chicken schnitzel) topped with bechemel and then cheese.

I'm a geordie, we don't really do Parmo's (although some do!).

It's deep fried chicken in a batter and cheese. I'm sure some Darlo people (and others!) will correct me on the correct making of a Parmo!

Sorry Op, can't direct you in your search for a better one, was just happy to see a north east themed thread!

The American Grill, Linthorpe Road in Middlesbrough, according to Wikipedia!

Amazing how in this day and age there can still be local delicacies.

Though apparently Asda are taking them national!

Where did you get it from? The pizza shop called kebab grill does amazing parmos though the best place you need is Middlesbrough. I work in Darlington so I've had one from most places. But definitely recommend going to Middlesbrough next time!

They're are honestly so good. One of things why I'm so proud to be from the north east. But sad but they're so good. Try making your own.
