Knowing you are fit is confidence.

I think confidence comes with increasing self awareness and self acceptance. Whereas arrogance is born out of a lack of self awareness, a feeling of superiority often linked with an overinflated fragile ego. Or something like that lol

Confidence in my book is being sure of your own ability and worth and not needing to shout about it or compare yourself to anyone to be validated.

Arrogance is often born out of a compensation for low self-esteem deep down, and gives rise to a need to 'claim' superiority over others to feel OK with yourself.

Or it could just be born out of conceit - pride and ego.

I'm a bit of a mixed bag, I know I'm attractive on the outside but I also know I'm messed up inside, is that arrogance to know I'm attractive?

Also confidence, when I'm with my friends going to a bar or somewhere they'll always get me to walk in first, my ex would always get me to do the complaining or take clothes back to shops for him because I didn't care about things like that. In work I can speak in front of a room full of adult male criminals and command their attention.

For the last 21 years I've done martial arts and I'm p5 grade in Krav Maga, hold a green belt in jujitsu, 2nd dan black belt in kickboxing so I know I'm physically strong, fast and could fuck someone up pretty badly in a fight, though I could never use those skills as I'd lose all my licences and have a pretty heavy jail sentence, however it gives me a sense of confidence, then on the other hand I'm massively insecure and struggle with my emotions. So I dunno how I'd be described, a mess would sum it up!

I'm pretty sure I've been guilty of a fair bit of arrogance in my youth over one thing or another but these days I don't see it and whilst I've been accused of being arrogant on here (particularly in relation to forum posts) I prefer to _iew myself as 'opinionated' rather than arrogant. If I have strong beliefs I'll argue them to the death.

To me that's confidence in my beliefs and that's not arrogance.

I can be quite arrogant at work, I know my job well and I don't like sloppy workers, when I'm right I know I'm right and I won't take any shit from anyone who thinks they know better than me, because most don't lol

When it comes to myself, as in personal looks I don't even posses confidence never mind arrogance

You can't be confident and arrogant in some ways but that does not always mean it spreads across the whole of your personality

In my work life I can come accross arrogant but at times I have no choice to have to get people into work and sometimes it's not nice.

I can be confident but of late its gone thanks to being ill and being honest low.

But its starting to come bk

Really not 1? I'm determined strong willed. Stand up for what I think is right no matter what other people say? Stand up for my friends despite what other people's _iews of them, all this because I am arrogant and won't be swayed from my opinion

None of those things sound like arrogance to me. I do those things too, but it's not because I'm arrogant.

In my opinion confidence is quiet and arrogance/cockiness is loud. If you're confident about something you shouldn't feel the need to shout about it

Many people often say that arrogant people are so in order to cover up their insecurities, however, its also true that insecure people are quick to label others as arrogant.

Confident people have a sense of self worth but also value the worth of those around them.

Yep, and confident people don't give a shit about who thinks they're arrogant - I notice that people get accused of arrogance or 'entitlement' a lot on here though, both words are often thrown around as a get out clause, used by people when their points in whatever debate start to crumble.

For me it comes down to the perception of you by others. You are who you are, some may _iew you as shy, confident, arrogant or a complete arsehole. Ultimately if you are happy being who you are does it matter?

Try to put my opinion without getting in trouble again.... confidence is something deep down inside and knowing your truly happy with you.

Arrogance is knowing deep down inside you dont and are subconcciously worried others will see it so over compensate. My opinion only.

Confidence is not needing anyone elses validation. I don't actually think anybody is truly confident unless they're also arrogant.

People tend to get called arrogant when they shove their confidence in other peoples faces and piss them off, whereas confident people just go about being arrogant silently so don't annoy anyone.

In the late 80's, pre motherhood, I did some modelling!

Nowhere is there more arrogance - caused mainly by insecurity, self-conciousness and jealousy! It was a very strange world which, I hope, I left with confidence but not arrogance. Xx
