Parties that sucked

Anyone ever been to a party that totally sucked? I don't mean the swinging variety. I mean them normal parties that sometimes make you want to be anywhere else instead.

Me and the family have got to go to a relative's wedding anniversary in Derbyshire and what's worse is we have to spend a night at a hotel there and were a suit. We don't want to go but we have no choice. We even know the party is gonna be shit because its always been the same fucking thing with every party they invited us to in the past.

All we'll be doing is sat on a table with one drink completely bored off our heads hearing the DJ play the same boring music from decades ago and there will be a buffet that always has shit food that I won't eat anyway and we'll only talk to a few people we know, well my dad will anyway.

To be honest, I'd rather be at work than go to this fucking party but I like I said we have no but to go.

Oh god this reminds me of years ago I had bought some from the market and was getting a lift home with my parents.. The bottle was damaged and the car stunk. I opened a window but my mum kept saying she felt funny and me and my oh at the time were in fits of hysterics in the back!!

So let her say she doesn't want to go. I'm assuming you aren't attached to each other. At 30 years old (and I'm guessing she's at least 50) you are both old enough to politely turn down an invite rather than going and sitting there with a face like a slapped arse all night!!

Then all say you're going and get food poisoning or something contagious the day before.

Go with a glad heart and willing to enjoy it and then just maybe you will enjoy it.

We've all had parties like that but there is usually someone there you don't hate who doesn't want to be there too and you join forces and have a good time.

I`ve got to the stage where all of my cousins or their offspring are now married. But at the time they were all getting spliced is when smoking was the norm and I spent many a night sat in the car because all the cigarette smoke used to make my eyes water so much! So for me you can say virtually every wedding reception I went to

There was a really crap swinger`s social I went to! It was held in a Weatherspoons pub in Enfield which was an old cinema with acoustics to match! The organiser chose to sit in the middle of the pub at not tell anyone where they were sat! I saw two groups of people who latched together and then eventually found the main party! All the two male organisers seemed to want to do was get blotto which they were when my friend and I left around 10.30pm!

My wifes' family have parties like this .. after first time I had to go with her and the attitude shown by her family it was the last time... But I told them in plain English what I thought of them and their "so-called" parties... Since then bliss no more invites
