Similar to Mutton - treat it the same.

Takes a long time to become tender.

Slow cook, lots of spice, etc and fresh corn bread to mop ya chin of all the juice

Look for "Carne de Cabra" recipies

Goat is the meat traditionally used in curries in the Himalayan states of northern India. As was said above, it has to be slow cooked otherwise it'll have the same texture as eating Gandhi's flip flop!!

Depends what you are making with it! If it's curry goat then yes you'll cook it in a pan on a low heat with whatever you are cooking it with. Or you might be slow roasting it in the oven wrapped in foil. A recipe would be a good start

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

It's a rich flavour but similar to mutton in taste.

Slow roast, low temperature, for 4-7 hours as you would with mutton on the bone. Cut up and cook on a slow simmer after sealing if making a stew or curry.

Slow cooker

Clay pot in the oven

Pan

However you do it - a nice LOW heat and be prepared to wait....

and wait

and wait a bit more

It's worth it though.

Mannish water is a West Indian aphrodisiac made from goats offal, brains and other bits - the recipe varies. I'm reliably informed that the word daughter, pronounced dahta in the song, is a colloquialism for girlfriend. The song pre-dates Viagra

Assuming that you're going to cook it in some kind of sauce, I'd cook it like a casserole in the oven but on a very low temperature - & preferably on the bone; contrary to popular restaurant or home cooking, that's the traditional way of cooking a delicious curry.

PS: don't spare the chillies!!

Cook it very, very slowly whatever you decide to do. And when you think it's cooked, cook it some more. On the bone if possible (and watch out for them while eating, they can be sharp). And it's a robust meat so can take quite a lot of heat in the form of chillies without the flavour being lost.

Yeah, had it in a kind-of curry stew thing in an Ethiopian restaurant in Paris (sounds slightly odd, but was fantastic), and also goat meat burgers at Aldeburgh food festival.

It's right tasty!

Great dish when done properly. ...as a jamaican living in Britain its hard to get the right thing because its so similar to lamb dodgy butchers will try pass lamb on as goat...but how to be sure is if its got a lot of bones

Cooked in curry sauce really slowly until the meat starts to fall of the bone

If you want more proof YouTube it
