My local pubs closing tonight. Where am I going to go!! I can walk in there and feel at ease in my own. Knowing my friends will always arrive. Now we have to plan a night out

ah gutted,, felt like id lost my local (before the days of parenting) when some people from London took over my 'local' and destroyed its warmth, lost all the regular drinkers too

not far from iceland,,,,,, tescos is nearer though :-) (near leeds)

There are about 30 pubs a week closing... many reasons contribute to the decline. If it's a prime site expect a local supermarket very soon

Word is it's going be student flats. There's a mini everything opposite it in walking distance. Worst thing is one of my mates has lost his home, and a few others have also lost their jobs there.

Terrible, how much is the price of a pint these days? It's been that long, last time we went I bought a pint of Stella and double vodka n and got a couple of quid change, yep deals on meals and keep the drinks prices normal.

Around £2.50 - £3.00 where we live but some as low as £2.00.

Although went to Leeds on Wednesday and paid £5.50 for a bottle of cider

Also I'm sure most wouldn't mind paying as long as your getting quality drinks, not paying through your nose for watered down drinks

Sad times, I don't have a 'local' anymore either, there's lots of pubs nearby but none where everyone knows each other, the barmaids etc.

You need to find the Angel on Briggate directly opposite Harvey Nichols up the passage. £1.34 for a pint of dark mild, a pint of cider is around £1.85 I think.
