not far from iceland,,,,,, tescos is nearer though :-) (near leeds)

I use about two pints of milk a week, approximately 75p,, 4 pints 85p.. So the yorkshireman in me says buy the 4 for best value, then when I don't use it before it turns the yorkshireman in me says 'wasted that..."

Decisions decisions.... Help which do I choose...

I think the guy in security thinks I'm weird or doing something to the milk I ve picked up and put down a few times

There was a thread about lactation and drinking milk earlier this week. That could be the answer to your problem

Menston near Ilkley

Scottish born Yorkshireman here, I'd drink it, not waste it.

Think it also depends on what 'colour' milk you are drinking - blue top, green top etc as to how quickly it goes off

Or drink black tea/coffee.....and eat toast instead of cereal ....

Or just keep borrowing off your neighbours

Somewhere in North Norfolk

Use it up making something you can freeze.

Pancake batter and cake batter can be frozen, as can white sauce.

I'd think there are plenty more options.

Ooohhh we could probably rig up a system with tubes and pumps to make you lactate Tina! That would need a four pinter at least!

Ahh, the 'Baked Bean Principle'

At uni, small tins of beans were 18p, one twice the size was 21p. I formulated the proposition that if I bought the larger tin, I could afford to throw half of it away 5 times out of six, and only finish it once.

My Scottish ancestry then prevented me from ever throwing it away, but putting it in the fridge and using it the next day.

Hence the 'Baked Bean Principle' was born (and why, to this day, many of my recipes still, randomly, contain baked beans!)

Buy 4, wash out an old 2 pinter, decant half and freeze it.

Voilà

Mr ddc

"Get four pints and a cat"

Most cats can't tolerate cows milk and if it doesn't make them sick it does make their poop very unpleasant

Buy the 4 pints and when it starts to turn churn your own cheese and yogurts, thus saving money on dairy products in to the pounds not just pence

A simple choice for me . As I like fresh milk I only buy a pint . It is also reidiculous that four pints of milk are sold for 85pence and is totally unfair to farmers .
