Currently listening to Brian Matthews on R2. Anyone else a fan? I am fan of sixties Popsychedelia, Soul, Garage Music, RnB, Northern Soul and Ska especially from 66-72.

I like Sounds of the Sixties too. The kids hate it but I always try to explain that some of the music they can hear hasn't been on the radio for decades. Their response is usually "that's because it's bad"

I'd tell them most if not everything they listen to today was influenced one way or another by older music . Kids eh? Lol.

I'm more of a 90s Indie fan, but there has been some great music in every generation.

Vinyl is making a come back, has been for a while. My ex has a massive collection, taking over the attic. Keep them in good condition including sleeves. Some are very collectable and valuable.

I like 60's music. That's when I was growing up. Radio was crap, just 2 hours of pop a week on the "Light Programme". That's when Offshore radio appeared, Radio Caroline, used to listen in the evenings as that was the only time I could hear it down in the South West.

Watched that film about it .

I got my love of it from my parents. Mainly main stream stuff. Love discovering obscure forgotten bands and tunes though

You could do a lot worse than checking out "the Ultimate Action" by The Action- 60's British Soul at it's best

Newcastle and Gateshead

i was brought up on motown... then discovered the best of the beatles and the stones......

it always leaves me in awe that in essence we talk about music that is the best part of 50 years old now..... and kids are still listening to it....

Totally agree but can understand it - discovering some neglected 60's gem is a real eye opener- but then that was the basis of the whole Nortern Soul scene back in the day
