Blocking

By (user no longer on site) OP

I've just realised that by blocking people I don't fancy (a choosy male - rare, I know!) I don't have to see their updates.

It feels cruel but it's nothing against you as a person/couple - just my personal taste; I'm not interested in you.

Now I can only see updates of people new to me, and/or interesting to me.

So why do I feel guilty about doing it?

Why's it cruel, saves everyone time

You're not the only one who does it no need to feel guilty

Wish we'd bumped into each other when I was working that way last year!

I like to look at the updates of people I like the look of - not of people that don't appeal to me. Turning the computer off would exclude all of them - no gain whatsoever ever!

Don't be....I've been doing this for ages. If I look at someone who clearly has no interest in single guys/of my age then blocking them stops you from looking again and wasting your time and theirs....its a great tool.

My block list is huge. Not because I have anything against them....but just to save time and effort.

I only block people who mail me with an offensive message, other than that I'm too lazy to bother.

Does make me laugh on the Forums when people disagree with someone and then throw in "you're blocked". A clear sign of a lost argument.

But don't feel guilty, block away if you want, I doubt many people even realise half the time and most don't care.

I have recently discover I am on a block list of some.one I have never talked too or profile I haven't seen since yesterday in the forums lol. That was odd lol.

Hay ho but I am sure I like most of us exist on son ones block list.

ahh well it doesn't hurt i suppose i am not really sure how many have blocked us i know at least 4 did because they felt the need to attempt to abuse me in mail on days i (jo) was on form and to happy for them so they do the snap out message being as insulting as they possible can then block as soon as they have sent it so we cant reply () bless

its more likely not about feeling the need to block him, but using it as its meant to be used, as a tool, and decided hes not for them so use the block as a filter so he doesnt show up in searches.

I have started actively blocking people. before I would be reticent about a block, concerned about the feelings of the other person.

Now I'm over it. I will look at the profile and if I am clearly not what they are looking for, I will block them.

I have also started blocking people who delete my emails without replying, because I know they aren't interested.

It's a tool like any other. it also stops me from messaging people I have messaged before, saves me having to add a private note of "not interested".

It is early days, no doubt I will miss out on some fantastic meets, but such is life.

Me too I blocked someone earlier as we kept going around in circles when a I asked for some pics as he only had a cock pic on his profile. After, I went to my blocked list to make a note as to why I'd blocked him, his headline said "there are some fucking sad pathetic people on here" yep, like you!! I'm glad I blocked now. Sometimes status's like that speak volumes about a person.

If you build up a nice solid friends list of people that you are going to meet and those you currently do, then there should be no need to wander into the murky waters of the "local updates". I did this once a few weeks ago. It was full or statuses such as "my balls need emptying" and "fancy a fuck?" I thought to myself "what is going on? this isn't normal from my friends list", then a lightbulb came on. I had wandered off piste into the "local updates". Never, never again!!!!
