Twice this has happened. People contact you, chat, arrange to meet up then they block you. If you don't want to meet the person just say so.

They don't need to say it as they said it all with the block!

Or the OP may have said something whilst chatting that put them off?

No idea why people do this unless they aren't who they claimed to be. It must be really annoying.

This happened to me once on my old profile a few years ago, bit odd considering they made first contact but is preferable to turning up to the venue and getting a no show.

Yes or that. Even tho blocking wouldn't be necessary I think.

I think if you're going to block someone you might as well just say you're not interested then do it otherwise the person blocked is left wondering why.

lets remember the block button is a tool not a weapon, there could be alot of reasons why some do this, including some childish ones, but as always in a thread like this you only get 1 side of the story.

Not so surprised with what people experience as regards meets but my advice is to always prepare for the worst...At times one tend to wonder if they are toddlers

Just rephrase Neeson from Taken....

I know who you are. I don't know why you blocked me. If you are looking for forgiveness, I can tell you I don't forgive. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long time on Fab. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you Unblock me and meet me now, that'll be the end of it. I will not badmouth you, I will not keep bothering you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will report you to admin!m

YEs good idea there, instead of chatting to them and things for a while lol.

Central

No one should fix a specific meet time, date and place and then not communicate to inform the other party that it's not happening.

There's a difference though between that and someone holding preliminary investigative discussions to determine potential compatibility or a possible meet. It's to be expected that everyone would do this with far more people than they'd ever meet. This is necessary filtering and it helps everybody. It means meets are more satisfying for everybody, because good ground work prep has been done.

Plan on a maximum of 10% of people you chat with being compatible for a live meet, and fewer than this being right for good sex.

Even if one party's standards are very wide, it's unlikely that the corresponding other's are the same.

Whilst you're going about your filtering, things crop up. Their kids have issues, partners needs or wishes change, work stuff happens or they realize that it's not right for them just now kicks in etc. We're not all equal in terms of expectations, social commitments and so on. Block is used to signify that things have changed. It shouldn't be used in lieu of respectful advice if a confirmed meet has been fixed.

But blocking is a hallmark of Fab. If you receive one then assume it means 'thanks, but no thanks, goodbye'. It doesn't notify you when one is created, so you have to find out from deductions.

Then you go on your way. Look for others after you learn something from that attempt about yourself and improve your own filter/selection process for the future, if you can.
