Catthorpe

Off to London in a few weeks and want to take in a West End show but those prices, wow!

Any advice on how to obtain cheaper tickets avoiding the touts? They say Google is your friend so use it but you guys are like family .... some advice would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Last time when we went to London we went to the box office in Leicester square, not cheap but cheaper than normal price.

We got the shows we wanted and excellent seats both nights

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Lots of websites have deals. Google is your friend.

If you're willing to just go to the booth at Leicester Square and pick a show from the ones they have tickets for on that day then you can usually get something good at half price.

Some shows do returns but not all of them and it means going round theatre to theatre

I like to go to the matinee shows , tickets are a bit cheaper , also when you come out you hit the happy hours in the bars , is there a particular show you fancy? I recently saw wicked , which was a good cast and production , but not really my thing , however Memphis the musical was brilliant

If you have some binoculars, check out the Royal Opera House/Royal ballet.

Yeah, top seats cost £200+ but there were some listed as low as £4 last time i looked.

I find if you buy things cheaper or do shit on the cheap it kind of doesn't feel so good....

Warhorse is fantastic. The tickets with restricted views are actually ok. I bought the cheapest restricted view tickets when I took the kids and we had really great seats overlooking the stage and able to see everything.

I saw Warhorse a couple of weeks ago - it was excellent. I think most seats will offer a good perspective. We were in the second row from the front but on reflection I'd have preferred to be somewhere else. Luckily though, we didn't pay for our tickets so we enjoyed it even more !
