Recently been diagnosed with degenerative disc disease in my lower back, would welcome advice on how to manage it from other sufferers. I am currently seeing an amazing chiropractor but need to manage it in between visits. The pain prevents me from sleeping

Cheers my lovelies..Kitty x

Get a referral to the Pain Clinic.

They'll look at the best option for you.

For some its surgery, fusion, etc.

Others its nerve inhibitors,

Some are fine with physic/chiro

Medication too is important - Amatryptaline works very well but be VERY careful on when you take it.

I'm not suggesting you ignore the doctors advice HOWEVER I can tell you it has a 12hr cycle and "take it 30mins before bed" will leave you a zombie at 8am dealing with kids, partner, work, etc.

Faset joint injections worked very well for me - was able to avoid having nerves burnt.

"Yes I might ask bout steroid injections..."

Its not a steroid - its a cocktail that effectively "switches off" the nerves that run through that area.

Live x-ray is cool if you don't mind seeing a straight needle come out looking like a corkscrew......
