Having your driving assessed

How many members have their driving assessed on a regular basis to ensure that they are adhering to current driving standards . I did the Diamond advanced driving test five years ago and it was an excellent refresher plus a useful way of identifying all your current driving faults . I did Category D for busrss three years ago and C+ E for lorries four years ago. I do not drive for a living but did them out of interest .

I passed the diamond test in 1998 and shortly after the IAM test. I'm tested every 3 years at work following roadcraft procedures.

I don't have a car, so I would warn most road users to keep an eye out when I hire a car for something.

I would say, judging by the standards of driving I see on the road, very few do.

I passed the IAM advanced driving test in October 1996.

As an advanced motorist, I am in the habit of constant self-assessment. It's kind of a mindset you get into, although I am actually considering taking another advanced test. Thinking of maybe going for ROSPA Gold this time.

. Very impressed that your employer does three year assessments . At least any faults picked up can be readily identified and rectified

Professional driver so I get regularly checked and do SAFED courses and suchlike...... although I drive at night so rules and standards don't apply

Nothing wrong with aiming high.

As with all things, nothing comes easy.

I am a huge advocate of Road Safety and a keen driver, so I always aim to be the very best at driving that I can be.

I am NOT a great driver, alas!

My poor Priscilla gets a few little lumps and bumps at times, as I have a talent for finding posts and walls that I SWEAR were not there a minute ago!

I'm very good at not bumping into actual living things though - not even a rabbit as yet - so worry not if we're meeting, unless you're particularly attached to your garden wall or shrubbery! xx

Most crashers are caused by people doing things they already know they shouldn't be doing.

Like speeding, using their phone, driving under the influence, carelessness and a lack of patience.

You do ok when you're driving my motor...I only need a couple of Valium an hour when you're chauffering
