one of the only famous people i have spoken to, and i didnt even know at first.. a mate was with me at a Depeche Mode concert years ago, while we were mulling round the beer/tshirt stalls, he grabbed my arm and said - 'thats steve strange!!' I said - you nut lol.. but he went off, and spoke to him, then they came over to me and we had a drink while just talking about DM.

He seemed like a nice fella when he was on some celebrity hairdressing show about 5 years back. But pretty clear from his slurred speech and manner that drugs had got the better of him down the years.

Music legend? Respect to those passed on but I think that's overplaying it a bit.

Very sad though
