"i do the weekly shop for us and carry it on my back in a rucksack and cycle home ..its amazing how many products become non essential and how much your grocery bill goes down " My Mum does that. She says everyone she knows complains that they spend too much shopping because they have a car. I will admit to getting a taxi home sometimes, but my cats need their food and it weighs a ton!

"i do the weekly shop for us and carry it on my back in a rucksack and cycle home ..its amazing how many products become non essential and how much your grocery bill goes down " My mum's never driven - or she did try to learn but never passed her test. She walks everywhere and her shopping trips are managed downwards, unlike myself where I do use a car. I do admire those who walk and cycle, as I used to cycle everywhere but am now a little lazier. It amazed me that people shopped as they did in the show. No shopping list/plan, expected to throw a lot of it away, as use by dates were too short (but still bought it!!!), and allowed their 4 year old daughter to control them. I spend very little, saving my money for student essentials, such as long haul holidays.
