hey dono if il get an answer but i have downloaded the newest update for skype and for some reason it wont let me cam or view cams or even send files or pics when i send them its just a black square with a lil x in corner saying photo unavailable how do i fix this or get my old skype back ?

you cant get your old skype back as microsoft wont allow it everytime you down grade it it forces you back to upgrade it otherwise it wont log you in

as goes for pics i always used send the file but i no longer use skype as it goes through your firewall and microsoft sees everything on your pc even if your system is a copy they know it is

Don't know if it works for Skype, maybe not, but one thing i do with useful programs is take a back up copy and store it offline, off PC/Lappy.

Then when they *upgrade" to something new and you don't like the new version, uninstall that and put the old one back on.

google skype windows 7 version. you can get it off the offical skype webiste and it won't force you to upgrade it back. i use it on win8.1

Just a thought but does anyone know why my Skype app won't let me connect to anything unless I'm on my wifi at home ?

did you download the wifi app? It lets you connect to other wifi, not sure which ones but it automatically does it. I never used mine so deleted it and can't remember exactly what it did.

Think it's called skype wifi.

I'm not sure I think I've seen that Skype wifi app and I pretty sure it's not the one I have but I can't find anymore in my app store,does anyone have any ideas how I can tell the difference or do I have to alter something in my settings

what phone you got? i have an iPhone.

without an app: all you have to do is tap wifi, you can choose to join wifi from the list or tap 'other' and type in what wifi you want to join.

i don't see the skype wifi app i used to have, but do see the same app for free in the store. It's called Skype WiFi and it connects to public hotspots.

actually it isn't free to use (only to download), you only pay for the minutes you use though.

I've got Samsung s4 now, I used to have an iPhone and it worked on there wrather on wifi or not and I think this is the same app I also seem to have lost some of my contacts
