What's putting me off this site :(

Seriously, what's with the women (some who are twice my age and should know better) who think it's okay to be incredibly rude and bitchy? I didn't expect to have to defend my corner all the time on here

I'm a polite girl who is part of a couple who are new to this. Have been speaking to some wonderful people, but i just feel like everywhere we turn there's someone who thinks it's okay to be nasty.

Just ignore them and move on if you are finding them rude and nasty to you. Age is no indicator of manners.

Take your time and find people with whom you can have fun.

I was naive to think that being on a swinging site people in general would be less judgemental and more laid back and more tolerant. Yet sadly some are really rude and like the op says just nasty.

Thankfully have chatted to some lovely people on here xx

I read the last tread and tbh it wasn't that rude. She was only expressing her opinion.

You'll have to thicken your skin if you want to use the forums. It can get much worse then that.

I think Fab is like many internet services, where people attack due to their lack of real exposure to other people.

I'm sad to hear the effect of things upon you - I'm disheartened, as Fab can be a great place and you don't deserve to have been treated negatively.

If it's stuff from the forums, then perhaps avoid the areas that have caused issues, maybe just reading but not posting in some topics.

This is a bit like victim blaming, where I'm suggesting you have to do something different, and that is totally against my moral standards. I'm trying to think of how you could still benefit from being here and to stop the harrassment and abuse upon you.

If individuals send inappropriate messages, then reporting them to admin will allow them to determine what action to take. You can block the senders, as others have suggested on this thread, and that can be a useful approach to take if you encounter people who aren't for you, whether socially or sexually. Blocking is a fairly standard Fab activity, so it won't seem unusual or extreme. In any event, you owe no explanations or apologies for other people's behaviour.

Try to find some decent people that you can get to know, even if just to bitch about stuff. There are many decent people on fab.

Take heart, many others here will have support for you, as they will have encountered trouble in one form or another. Take care and good luck!

Ah! All caught up now.

OP, welcome to the forum but be prepared for anything and everything to appear on any thread you start. Once it's up then people will post as they see fit. It's rarely personal and you'll hate the forum and interactions if you get upset if a thread does not go as you would like.

I is a woman and I didn't see bitchiness either. However, the OP feels aggrieved judging by the last post I saw on that thread.

Sensitivities seem to be at a low tolerance level on the fora at the moment.

No I believe we took it the right way to begin with as the other tread shows. Can't really back track when you were quite specific who you were annoyed at.

If you want to use the forums maybe try to understand people have a right to express their views just like you. Doesn't mean they are being rude.

Just block older people on your filters ..

No need for anyone to be rude or nasty.

If anyone is rude in pm report if necessary.

Takes a while to fit into the forums sometimes I am not even sure you can fit in. Depends who you have in your corner..

People are very critical depending on their life experience and how they see things.

Just let it wash right over you.
