Instinct or Learned

How much of your decision making or 'thinking' is based on instinct.

Are your key behaviours and decision making criteria learned and based on your personal life experiences?

Were you ever a blank slate?

If you could, what 'learned' drivers would you change about yourself?

What 'drivers' would you change in wider society?

Most of my decisions are intuition led based on how I feel. However when more concrete data is readily available I use a more rational decision making process.

Over the years I have become more aware of how my decisions were based on early life experiences. Where the beliefs I developed based on those experiences limited me I've tried to update them to more empowering ones.

Ignorance and prejudice go hand in hand. Reducing ignorance and increasing self awareness would go a long way to helping society change for the better

It is difficult to determine which drivers are learned. Ownership is a big one.

Imagine a society without the concept of ownership.

It would be unrecognisable.

Very well said mate , and very refreshing to know there are people out there that recognise this fact

I have a very logical mind and a very strong emotive intuition, so I am often torn between the two. I tend to rationalise for ages and then suddenly follow my gut regardless lol!

I don't think we were even born a blank slate, and sadly we do accumulate damage as we go through life. I have some knee jerk reactions I realise I did not have 30 years ago, but I am aware of them within seconds at least!

Nurture is the dominant force I think but in many cases intertwined with the powerful natural instinct to fuck x

.

Does ignorance go hand in hand with prejudice?.

Some of the most prejudiced people in history were certainly not ignorant.

There are many human drivers and all we need to do is except our weaknesses and work on our strengths.

Emotions and instinct tend to rule how I behave.
