early spring and changing times....

Went out with the ferrets today, netted a big warren, popped the big hob in and low and behold three baby rabbits came sauntering calmly out right through the net and just sat there!...must have been three weeks old! That says to me they started mating before Christmas! Extrmely early.......

Shows what a mild winter it's been and potentially that it's gonna be an early spring I think.......

Anyone else seeing signs of this?

I've never seen kittens of that age this early on......times are changing.

I saw the rams in the flocks in Dec....but given a sheep takes almost 5 months to gestate I don't expect to be seeing anything lamb wise till April or so...

Christmas lambs mean tupping in about August...wonder if it's done indoors these days perhaps?

Christmas lambs aren't something I'm very familiar with...

Loads of people lamb Dec/Jan - They will be born indoors but turned out after a couple of days. Those with the rams in Nov/Dec will be outdoor lambing flocks, Lambing Apr/May.

Hill flocks have tended to lamb either indoors or in-bye in March.
