Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Sometimes when they are hunkered down and puffed out they look like pompoms.

Bristol

The ducks and swans near work have definitely hunkered down now the water's frozen over. The seagulls fly over them looking for all the world like they're deliberately taking the piss.

Do they regulate their bird food intake? I'm sure the ones in my garden are ready to explode/ drop out of the sky.

Cormorants are beautifully fat! And REALLY good at fishing, they are mainly in the UK during winter.

Titz Towers, North Notts

We had a pheasant parading about in the garden at work a bit back and that was lovely to see.

We had one in our back garden one day. Considering we lived miles from fields it was a bit of a shock. I came home from school and it was gone. My dad said it flew away but we had a strange tasting pie for dinner that evening

Shoot it.

Pluck it.

Roast it.

Eat it!

Not necessarily in that order...

Central

I love them and have another tame cocky robin who I'm feeding. The Goldfinches have shown a preference for my other feeds now and eat less nyger - maybe its so tiny and they want the equivalent of pie and chips in cold weather.

My neighbour puts out a lot of bird seed and fat balls. The feeder gets swamped with starlings and pigeons. I've only seen a couple of Robins, but there are a lot of cats here
