or the blokes, George Osborne is under fire from menstruating women across the nation as he deems tampons to be 'luxury items'. They are taxed as such, while such things as edible sugar flowers, alcoholic jellies and exotic meats (including crocodile and kangaroo) are tax free, what with being essential and all that. Clearly the makers of this petition fail to appreciate that a good old slab of crocodile steak works wonders when inserted in the sugar-flower-bedecked vag of a bleeding lady as she sups upon an alcoholic jelly or two.

So yeah. Sign the petition. If you want to.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Sanitary products have always been subject to VAT. No Chancellor has ever responded to calls to relieve these items of VAT. So far we've never had a female Chancellor of the Exchequer.

Bristol

I thought it was only tampons and not towels that had VAT on them. Even as a teenager living under a female prime minister that used to piss me off.

I signed a couple of petitions back then too. I think I'm asked to sign the no VAT on sanitary products one every five years or so.
