Anyone been to chameleons club, Darlo?, what do you think about it? - We've been to Xtasia and quite like it...tempted by Chams but not sure?...

Well it's an extremely friendly club. The staff will welcome u and show around the club. It's a sauna based club so guys generally wear the towels provided and some ladies too. Alot of ladies wear babydolls/corsets/lingerie & stocking. Items they feel sexy and comfortable in.

I've been going on my own as a single fem for years now and love it like a second home almost. Lol I feel comfortable to go on my own and meet lots of great people and have a laugh with them as well as fun. Saturday nights are couple only nights if u want to try that first.

We may just do that, were not to judgemental when it comes to mixed night to be honest, sometime the guys talk more and dont always try it on (at Xtasia anyway) I asume as chams seems friendly it may be the same? Not sure id have the confidence as a single woman! Go you!

we really liked chameleons but bizarrely for us found the atmosphere much better on the Friday night (that allows single guys) than on the Saturday (couples) night lol - we liked it so much in fact that we missed going to the party on Saturday we were meant to

Personally I prefer Fridays as I like the single guys and the atmosphere that they create - buzz. I don't think you'll find the towel a problem and is very useful when playing etc.

I just thought Saturdays are more relaxed perhaps.

Chameleons is a busy club with alot of atmosphere generally. If I lived as close as you I'd be there all the time and I'm not that's a good thing...lol

First time i went to chams it had only been opened about 3 months thats was 10 years ago

10 years on and im still using the place, its the only club ive visited for that lenth of time. so there must be somethuing about the club that keeps drawing me back

Chams is probably the premier swing club in the UK. It may have an undress on arrival policy but after 1/2 hour of people walking around in towels, or nothing at all, you'd feel overdressed if you were the only one in clothes.

It's a cool club and the people are respectful.

I like the people at Chams,I don't like the dress code,Its ok for me as I can wear what I like but Rob hates wearing a towel,we're not really jacuzzi or spa people for swinging,and prefer dress clubs,however we have had a great time whenever we have been to Chams

Went there on Friday for first time and was unsure about the towel thing, but u feel so comfortable, no one is judging u, and there is always somoeone bigger than u, lol. Felt so comfortable an hrlater i was naked on the sundeck and felt right at ease with my partner doing naugty stuff to me.

You can wear sexy lingerie, men can wear shorts, but tbh, most people dispense with even that and stick to a towel after 1/2 an hour. Nobody will judge you for having a few pounds here n there.

You'd LOVE Abfabs. We've been a few times and it's really good. The clientelle dress up to go and you get a good mix of people from all walks of life.

Self concious ? in chams ? perhaps for the first 10 minutes then you will realise the beauty of everyone being in a similar dress code, As anyone who has been will confirm the dress code on Chams actually builds confidence for people but you won't see that until you experience it.

About the dress code

Ladies - a nice basque n hold-ups perhaps, a sexy nightie, a sexy mini skirt and c thru blouse, the general rule is no outdoor wear but with clubwear as sexy as it is these days even that is acceptable. or yes you can wear the towel supplied.

For the guys there is also the towel or a nice pair of boxers, t/shirts you can get away with if they are sexy, the standard T shirt or shirt is not but I have a number of c-thru/sleevless/skin tight/leather style and they are always accepted in there.

But if you really want to see what people think go to the CLUBS page here on Fab and see the re_iews, chams has more than any other club.

The Hotel (part of the club but seperate) is highly recommended too

Ive been going there for about 10 years now and can honestly say ive never know anyone or a incidence where anyone has gone just to cause trouble?

Ok theres always going to be the odd bit of trouble, ive seen a few couples fall out there in my time, the odd guy who cant take no for an asnwer etc but not people going for the soul purpose of trouble making

I remember the first time i went i thought it was going to be like walkiing into a porn set

Full of good looking, slim young women and i would stick out like a sore thumb

And its nothing like that at all, its just like being in a pub with your m8s really, but with play rooms if needed, you can actually have a night there and never have to go anywhere near a play room or a naked person

Once your in there and you see everyones not perfect, people of all ages, sizes and colours go, you will soon forget your stood there half undressed lol

Been a handful of times and never had a bad experience, it really does put you at ease, and much like the intention of school uniforms, the towel kind of policy is a great leveller! FYI if you need a bath sheet(i do) just ask on the way in as the towels in the lockers are standard bath towel sized! Oh and couples do have a seperate changing room to single men so less gawping!!

I have to agree with your fist paragraph though, felt very uncomfortable trying to change into a bikini in the changing rooms without anyone seeing me naked, and went into the first jacuzzi with it on, second time, my friend told me not to wear it so i didnt and no-one batted an eyelid and after that, naked naked naked, and i played in the couples room too with a couple of guys and girls

read the re_iews on the club pages theres lots of re_iews on this club and range from ok to fabulous i dont think ive seen a bad re_iew.we have been members for about 5 yrs and no other club we have been too comes anywhere near to how good chams is.we have been members in the past at xtasia,la chambre and the simply dreadfull utopia.try chams you wont be dissapointed

You're taking trouble in the people misbehaving sense. I meant trouble as in the police or the press or local busybodies or anyone really who doesn't have the best interests of swinging in their heads.

Getting your kit off on admission is a bit like watching that new couple while out dooging. You don't know who they are and you don't want to wander up to their car with your cock hanging out in case they're cops or journalists.

Hang back for a bit and let them get started. Once she's got her tits out or her arse against the window it's a safe bet they're not planning to put you on page 1 or in a cell.

Thats a shame as I think I would feel vulnerable, and as I am a little larger than 'a few extra pounds' lingerie is out...I would feel very uncomfortable among all the beauties....oh well, thats one of our list for the future.

Take your own and attach a bit of velcro to them...that way you won't be worrying about them falling off. I was really wary of going to chams...found the prospect really daunting, but a couple of good friends took me along with them and I have to say I loved it and have been back several times...only wish I lived round the corner

It's definatly a hot venue and that's not just because of the 2 tubs 1 steam and 1 sauna room! The round room gets very hot as I'm sure a lot can atest to here.

It's a very well run, friendly club and I can only give it 10 out of 10. As far as the towel issue well they do have larger towels available there and don't let being BBW stop you from attending either, yes you will see ppl in all their finary but for the most part every day folk of all shapes and sizes just there to meet and enjoy each others company in a safe enviroment. if you do decide to go it might be an idea to meet a cpl off here that are happy to go along for your first time and take it from there.

What ever you decide have fun.

No dont take it off your list, keep it on!!! I am also self conscious, had two kids, will never have the flat board stomach id love, no-one cared, and there was a lady at least a size 24 and everyone was chatting with her, no-one said anything to her and she looked sexy! Also when a lady (not slim) went to get out of the jacuzzi, the guys helped her out, no-one made a comment, they made sure she was safe and she wasnt slim. So dont worry about it, yes its a little uncomfortable the first time, but once you start having fun, you will forget your self consciousness, i promise that

Why not pop along in the daytime .

Its much quieter and you can have a good nose round too.

Im no skinny minny but like the others say.

No one judges you at all and i tend to wear chemises etc. Even some sexy night attire would be ok as long as your comfortable.

But def go along to the bbw nite. great fun to be had

chams is brilliant. I often go with a lady friend who really enjoys dressing up and the attention that she gets although she is not into other guys just looking for bi ladies she does enjoy the flirting with guys. I have also been as a single and again enjoy the experience. If people are a little hesitant which is understandable a daytime visit can quell the nerves. The club opens at 11 most days and the numbers and pressure are less well worth a daytime visit to break some taboos. Hope to see some of you there

It's a cool club and the people are respectful.

You have to undress virtually straight away?...not nice for people who may b a little self conscious really is it?

You can wear sexy lingerie, men can wear shorts, but tbh, most people dispense with even that and stick to a towel after 1/2 an hour. Nobody will judge you for having a few pounds here n there."

Its not about the fact that others wont judge..or a case of 'there are other large/ugly etc people there so dont worry about it'...

Its not about how they feel..Its about how I feel inside..if they are ok with it then good luck to em...but Im not, and the fact that im oblidged to sit there like a dressed turkey in the butchers window waiting to 'be selected' while hubs has to sit in a towel or a pair of shorts..(he has a scar on his leg which he is slightly conscious about)

And the mindset that it is to out those who may be there to cause trouble, in my opinion, is complete bollocks.

Its a shame because Chams sounds a great place, even for non swingers like us...but I need to feel comforatble..not much to ask surely?

Whatever anyones' opinion is, in open forum, will of itself be subjective and valid to the poster's knowledge of the subject.

The large numbers of Chameleons members who frequent this swingers site speaks volumes to the premis that their knowledge of the establishment in question engenders a (generally) positive response to the OP, with no further editorial or recourse to cliched epithet in order to distract from a clear absence of suitable realistic response to the primary interrogation.

IMHO.

i agree that they have an opinion on how THEY feel about going to a club such as chams. if they dont feel comfortable with the dress code there then there are plenty of other clubs where people remain dressed until they wish to play that they can choose from.

Why is it when yo stick up for people/clubs/places/activities on here you get knocked for it?

i would think that the membership lists and waiting lists etc for Chams shows that despite what the 'chams mafia', as you put it, say it is a well like club.

I personally have the opposite problem with clubs, i would feel much more self conscious if i went to a club like Xstasia and i wuld worry about what i was wearing, if i looked silly etc...at chams everyone is the same, either in sexy lingerie or a towel and i feel a lot less self conscious.

Find what works for you - not everything will x

Chams Mafia! LOL! I live in York and have visited once and even I recognise what a great club it is.
