I love the fact I don't have to look around for a card and present for valentines. I can kick back in a department store and watch the men panic buy.

Also on Feb 15th, retailers will sell their chocolate cheaper, so I can buy more and not share it with anyone.

There is so much hype with valentines and I think it just puts a huge amount of pressure on people.

I don't particularly like being single at the moment but that has nothing to do with Valentine's Day.

Yeah, I have no interest in it. I find it a bit weird that we have a day to celebrate love, surely in a relationship you show your partner you love them all the time?

If I were in a relationship I certainly wouldn't be buying a load of tat, or spending a ridiculous amount on a dinner that would normally cost half the price any other time

We font buy cards and presents as we see it as just a scam if we want to treat each other and declare our love we can do it any time of the year.

but I'll appreciate and will enjoy the valentines meal and all the extras the restaurants do. Don't see the problem with making someone happy. In return id make sure my date was very very happy

We never make a massive fuss for valentines day. We have a maximum spend of £20 and but each other gifts we actually want rather than soppy crap that'll go in the bin. We do buy nice cards and have a nice meal though. I think there is far too much hype around it, and I really don't understand people who spend hundreds on flowers and jewellery. Madness haha

We ignore it but one thing that gets me;- people moan about being single on Valentine's day and say it's for the couples... Wasn't the whole point of Valentine's day for singletons to let their crushes know how they feel (even if it's anonymous?).

I mean, where's the fun in getting cards and gifts from your partner? Wouldn't it be much more interesting to get something anonymous from, say, the postman or the stalker down the road?

It means fuck all to me as a single and never meant anything when I was in relationships, it's a farce and a money making scam...I'd much prefer receiving little tokens (not material things) or gestures of love throughout the year rather than it all being on one day of the year for the sake of keeping up with everyone else or appearances! I think the issue is that in long relationships the romance tends to dwindle. And this is an easy opportunity to take advantage of. And if the man doesn't take the opportunity given to him on a plate, I think he's a mug.

I like detail. My favorite restaurant would put my favorite dessert in a heart shaped dish on Valentine's for instance. I appreciate touches like that.

There's something fun about anonymity, but yes, it does need to be seen through at some point.

I remember giving one of my mates a bollocking when he bought 40 red roses for a girl he liked but never owned up to it.

A chancer then took credit for it and she ended up with him.

He's a hopeless romantic but is shy and that hinders him.

id rather spend a little on the day than spend nothin on the day at least receiving something makes them kinda special to you as well as them

but i have been known to do a meal before or just after the time of valentines day but i always get something on the day

as much as over the years i have sent enough people some loverly poems to them on valentines day even though i dont know them at all

to me its the thought that counts the most and i have made some peoples days much more special on the day

It means that on the 15th at 19:00 the co-operative (who do nice bouquets that last ages by the way) they reduce the flowers to the maximum reduction. Last year I bought myself a £20 bouquet for 6 quid!

I'll have my friends daughter again so my friend can do something with her bf and we (my daughter and I) will all go out for a meal then home to watch disney films, (they're 6 and 5 years old!)
