Policies are now void for any injury sustained whilst under the influence.

Will it lead to people waiting until they are sober before attending hospitals etc, risking serious complications ?

Is this new and fair ?

so in effect they are forcing you to have a sober holiday?

i dont drink to excess on holiday and have never gone in for all the stupid antics som epeople get up to on those ibiza/magalouf programmes etc but now if i have a genuine accident when i am d*unk i am not covered?

another case of legislating for the idiots and the sensible folk cop for it

As far as i am aware it has always been in the small print that if alcohol has been consumed prior to an accident happening then the policy would be voided

I could be wrong

Under the influence is a very vague statement.

D*unks falling off balconies is a far cry from a glass of wine with a meal.

Insurance is the single biggest con that ever came about in my opinion. They will try anything to avoid paying a claim.

If your going to get blotted on holiday then perhaps you should take out extra insurance that covers being d*unk.

You may be correct, I've never heard it announced on the TV before tonight.

Exactly, I can see companies insisting on blood tests soon, positive and you foot that bill too

It is legal to drink and a claim may not be your fault. As such it seems an unreasonable exclusion and I hope they're forced to back down.

People will sit things out to sober up, perhaps after a head injury. In the meantime they could be dead, if not getting medical attention. Similarly for strokes and many health conditions and accidents that are not booze related.

Insurers already refuse too many claims and have too much power. Another side of the financial industry that is toxic.

Outrageous. Bureaucratic nonsense ruining fine British traditions of vomiting in a Spanish bar or lying half cut outside a Greek nightclub.

Yes I did lol

This just struck me as I had never heard or known that this could be an issue for people.

As said above insurance companies are far from straight with people.

How many have missed/not read that private hospitals are not covered and receive a bill ?

This is all very well, and to a certain degree, understandable. What I really object to to apparently it's also in the small-print on Tina's insurance forms. I mean, fancy holding us accountable for the posts we've made whilst under the influence - that IS unfair
