Check your policy

windscreen excesses tend not to be as big as your full excess for a crack and sometimes no charge at all

if its cracked not just a chip then the crack will spread very fast across your windscreen with every pot hole and road hump you drive over so best get it done asap.access is about £75.00

If the crack is on part of the windscreen where it obscures your vision of the road or pathway to your front (normally counted as any place within the arc of your wipers) you are breaking the law. Also if your windscreen is one of the glue in type it forms part of the passenger cell and being cracked reduces the strength of your car in a crash.

That is why getting it replaced will not effect your NCD and if you are Comp you will probably not have to pay the excess.

No matter what I would advise getting it fixed today.

if the window needs to be replaced you will have to pay the windscreen access even if you are fully comp.a chip repair is free if you are fully comp

Windscreen excess on a comprehensive policy is normally £70.00.

If its cracked it cant be repaired only a small chip is suitable for the liquid repair.

A crack in a windscreen can get worse if you hit a bump in the road. Also the cold and ice can make the same thing happen and it will spread across the whole area.
