If i have a 'SORN' vehicle being driven on my own property surely i don't have to insure, MOT it etc. But I'd be liable to damage to other people's property plus criminally liable for injury or death due to negligence. | |||

To quote the law Spaces were the public have access i.e. supermarket car par or car park in general or even a industrial estate The driver of any vehicle will require valid insurance and licence . Private means a place were the public have no access i.e. private land on a farm or private drive to house . | |||

"I initially learned to drive on an old air-field! And... no, I don't still drive like I'm about to take off on one!" Ditto - can't really go wrong on a runway, but it was good to get the feel for clutch control etc without the embarrassing stares if you kangaroo it on a public road. | |||
